Ground Transport

Taxi

Taxi services at the airport offer impeccably clean, properly maintained, and insured vehicles. You also have the option of booking a taxi well ahead of time.

Car Rentals

Rental car companies require a temporary driver’s permit and a valid driver’s license from your home country. You can usually get your driving permit at the Kingstown, St. Vincent car rental office.

Public Transport

Inexpensive mini-buses are available island-wide but are most prominent in the largest city, Kingstown. There is no scheduled timetable so don’t take one to a distant location.

To prevent issues on the local buses, convert from U.S. dollars to local currency or some drivers will over-charge you. Also, double-check the route with each driver before boarding.

Cruise Port

Though a few major cruise lines stop in St. Vincent, the island is not a common port-of-call in the Southern Caribbean. Some travelers who value more privacy prefer it that way.
