Gussies Chicken & Waffles Review
This is a family-owned buffet restaurant that is popular for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Its former location was Powell’s Place, but this place is a notable upgrade. Of course chicken & waffles is their specialty, but Michele Wilson is a self-taught chef inspired by family recipes and a Business Administration degree from Howard University. That background led to menu inventiveness that includes items like Buttermilk Fried Chicken Livers, Louisiana Fried Catfish, and Herb Roasted Chicken. For health conscious patrons, she also makes omelets available with egg whites-only. If your diet permits, save room for the Banana Pecan Waffles, Pecan Pie and/or ice cream float desserts.
