North Carolina Museum of History
DESCRIPTION: A folklife exhibit, the Wright Brothers aviation exhibit and so many more NC history exhibits make this a place to spend time. The 164-acre Museum Park is home to more than a dozen monumental works of history and art representing the state of North Carolina.

North Carolina State Capital
DESCRIPTION: Built in 1833, this Greek Revival building construction began with Masonic honors and completed in 1840. John Adams Hyman was the first black man elected to the North Carolina Senate, where he served from 1868 to 1874 during the Reconstruction Era. The Capitol housed the entire state government until 1888, then back office functions moved out. The North Carolina General Assembly met in the capitol building until 1961. The legislature relocated to its current location in the North Carolina State Legislative Building in 1963. The Capitol was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973. The North Carolina Supreme Court convened in the Capitol’s senate chamber in 2005, while the Supreme Court building was undergoing renovations.

401 Par Golf Course
DESCRIPTION: Just outside of the urban city, 401 Par Golf sits among rolling hills surrounded by cherry trees and grape vines. The nine-hole, par three golf course wraps around a 2-acre pond and provides a challenge to any golfer, while allowing beginners to build confidence. The driving range has grass areas as well as mats, with a cover to shade you or keep you dry. The driving range, sand trap and putting green are available for practice.

Eagle Ridge Golf Course
DESCRIPTION: This par 71, 6,904-yard course is set in wooded rolling terrain about 15 miles from Raleigh. It is a challenging test for players of all skills levels since opening in October 2000. It was designed by 1992 US Open Champion Tom Kite, a 19-time PGA TOUR winner. There is a premium on ability to hit wedge shots close.

Pullen Park
DESCRIPTION: This beautiful park offers recreational opportunities for everyone. It includes a 1911 Menagerie Carousel, train ride, community center, boat rentals, arts center, ball fields, tennis courts, picnic shelters, playground, concession stand and Theatre In The Park. Free admission, but there is a small fee for amusement rides.
