Historic Heritage Square
DESCRIPTION: Encompasses the only remaining group of residential structures from the original townsite of Phoenix. In addition to numerous restaurants and shops, several noteworthy buildings are part of the attraction here including The Rosson House, one of the most prominent homes in Phoenix in 1895 and an outstanding example of the Victorian Eastlake style. The Bouvier-Teeter House, a Midwestern style bungalow built in 1899. The Duplex, the most typical Arizonan house on Historic Heritage Square and home of the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department Heritage & Science Park offices. The Carriage House which was built around 1900. The Stevens-Haustgen House built in 1901, significant for its representation of the historic California bungalow style built around the turn of the century. The Silva House, built in 1900 and standing today as a fine example of bungalow architecture with neoclassical revival references, in addition to numerous other structures. Pioneer Living History Museum
DESCRIPTION: Since 1969 Pioneer Living History Museum has stood in testament to Arizona’s early territorial Western history and heritage. Reportedly the largest living history museum west of the Rocky Mountains, this 90-acre outdoor museum located 30 minutes north of downtown Phoenix houses some 30 historic buildings from the 1880’s to the turn of the century. Visitors can explore numerous authentic buildings and historically accurate reproductions including a 1890s dress shop, Victorian house, print shop, Sheriff’s office, opera house, blacksmith shop, community church and other structures. Depending on the time of year, costumed interpreters including Victorian ladies, cowboys and lawmen are available to give you an authentic taste of the Old West. The Buffalo Soldiers exhibition during the Fall is a must see.

Pueblo Grande Museum and Archeological Park
DESCRIPTION: Situated on a 1,500 year-old Hohokam village ruins in modern day Phoenix, the Pueblo Grande Museum has been dedicated to the study and interpretation of the Hohokam culture for over 70 years. The grounds span 102-acres and encompass the ruins of an 800 year-old platform mound possibly used by the Hohokam for ceremonies or as an administrative center, an excavated ballcourt, full-scale reproductions of prehistoric Hohokam homes and some of the last remaining intact Hohokam irrigation canals.

Taliesin West
DESCRIPTION: International headquarters for The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, established in 1940 as the repository of the life work of Frank Lloyd Wright. It includes all of his past and future designs, drawings, writings, and personal property including his home here in Scottsdale as well as the home in Spring Green, Wisconsin, considered two of Wright’s greatest architectural masterpieces; both sites served as his personal homes, studios and campus for his architectural school.
