DESCRIPTION: This internationally acclaimed museum is arguably, the best museum to experience the myriad cultures, history and art of Native Americans in the Southwest. Through outstanding traditional and contemporary Native American art, to Indian artists with a wonderful home that will excite and inspire visitors from around the world. More than 35,000 artifacts distributed among some of the 10 spacious exhibit galleries make up the museum’s permanent collection; includes a 400-seat multipurpose auditorium, Education Center, expanded Museum Shop and Bookstore, and indoor-outdoor Arcadia Farms. Perhaps, the most incredible reason to visit is the exhibit describing how Native Americans were forcibly moved on the Trail of Tears and others were required to attend Indian Schools, while being stripped of the culture — heartbreaking stuff that African Americans can relate to.

Symphony Hall
DESCRIPTION: Opened 1972, it recently completed a renovation and expansion; home to the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera and Ballet Arizona, large Broadway touring companies, dance productions, and popular entertainer concerts; features 2,387 chairs with wood bases for better acoustics and a major art collection to stimulate your visual appetite.

Orpheum Theatre
DESCRIPTION: They took 12 years and $14 million to carefully restore it to its early 20th century opulence when it hosted Vaudeville acts; touring Broadway plays, musicals and dramatic events are today’s fare; has 1,062 seats on orchestra level, 302 in the balcony.
