Birdland Review
Not the original Jazz Club of the same name, but it attracts enough top tier domestic and international jazz artists to earn its moniker, “Jazz Corner of the World” on may nights. Alto saxophone legend Charlie Parker, known to his fellow musicians as “YardBird” and eventually had that nickname contracted to “Bird”, is the inspiration for Birdland. A pleasant surprise at Birdland is its dinner menu, which includes Cajun Corn, Blackened Catfish Strips and Louisiana Crab Cakes. For 20 bucks and two drinks, you can hear some great jazz.
