Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is a small airport with a modest number of daily passenger flights to domestic destinations and Canada. Airlines to MYR are Elite, Frontier, Porter, Spirit, Sun Country, and Westjet. Direct flights include Atlanta, Atlantic City, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Indianapolis, NYC, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Toronto, and Washington DC. MYR Airport includes a modest collection of shops, cafes, and bars for its size.

Car Rentals include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Thrifty, and National brands at MYR airport. Taxis: are parked outside door 6 and are available first come first serve. A taxi ride from MYR Airport to most hotels along the strand costs $20. Consider Uber/Lyft.

Highways

Myrtle Beach Highways is an oceanfront metro area not on the Interstate Highway System. Most visitors exit from the Interstate to drive here from one of three directions:

Driving Directions from Wilmington, North Carolina:

Take US-17 South toward Shallotte/Myrtle Beach
Take ramp onto SC-9 North towards Loris
Bear right onto Carolina Bays Parkway (SC 31) toward Myrtle Beach/Georgetown
Take ramp onto US 501 South, towards Myrtle Beach
Proceed over the Intracoastal Waterway bridge and take the ramp onto US-17 South or North

Driving Directions from Columbia, South Carolina:

Take the I-20 East to I-95 north
Take I-95 north to Exit 170 (Rt. 327)
Take Route 327 to SC-576
Turn left onto Rt 76/301 and follow to SC-576.
Take SC-576 East to US-501 South
Continue on US-501 South
After crossing the Intracoastal Waterway, bear Right onto US-17 South or North

Driving Directions from Charleston, South Carolina:
Take US-17 North – go 90 miles

Though some parking lots near beaches accept debit/credit cards, it’s always good to bring coins, just in case.
