Airport

Mobile Regional Airport (MOB), a regional airport, consists of a 2-story terminal with expansion plans. Today it primarily features flights to Atlanta, Birmingham, Jackson, Orlando, New Orleans, Memphis, and Nashville.

Rental Cars: Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National serve the airport. Using Airport Blvd, MOB airport is about 20 miles west of downtown. Do not confuse your directions with Mobile Downtown Airport for executives. Shuttles & Taxis include Mobile Bay Transportation (251-633-5693), Capital Transportation (251-634-9944), Yellow Cab (251-476-7711 and Mobile Cab & Baggage 251-476-7711.

Dauphin Street Historic District Walking Tour
Many of the early structures on this tour had the straight lintels and moldings of the Federal Style. The reconstruction period brought the acceptance of new building trends such as the Italianate-style and cast iron facades. The last decades of the 19th Century brought the Victorian Era and Revivalism, which continued into the 20th Century. The walking tour extends from Water to Bayou Streets to the north and south, and Conti to St Francis Streets to the west and east.

Swamp Tours
2-hour narrated learning experience in the great Mobile-Tensaw Delta swamp, one of America’s most ecologically diverse wild lands. They use a custom-built ‘gator boat that lets you see wildlife up close.

Cruiseport

Alabama Cruise Terminal in Mobile was named Carnival’s 2007 Port of the Year. They must like this year-round terminal even more today, because Carnival now home ports Elation and the even larger Fantasy cruise ships here for 4, 5 and 7 Day Western Caribbean cruises.  More patrons are discovering this gem for cruise departures.

Freeways

Mobile Freeway System: Traffic from the airport is only heavy during commute hours. Wisely, transportation planners made I-10 Freeway tunnels under Mobile River to preserve better views of the waterfront. As a small city, there are only 3 freeways complimented by several highways
