Brinn Children’s Museum
DESCRIPTION: Provides interactive and enchanting exhibits that promote hands-on learning and the development of fundamental skills, self-esteem and the ability to work with others. Named in honor of Betty Brinn, a successful Milwaukee businesswoman who spent most of her childhood in foster homes and orphanages throughout Wisconsin. As an adult, Betty dedicated her life to helping underprivileged women and children in the Milwaukee area secure health care.

Milwaukee Public Museum
DESCRIPTION: This popular museum features a permanent collection on African art, textiles, animals on 3rd floor; “Tells, Tombs & Temples” Egyptian art on 2nd floor. The “Streets of Old Milwaukee” gallery includes an exhibit on a prominent African American family, the Watsons, which date their presence in the region to the 1850s. Milwaukee County Zoo
DESCRIPTION: Founded in 1892, this fine zoo accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association hosts Polar Bears, Brown Bears, Giant Octopus, Chinese Alligator, King Penguin, Koala, Ring-tailed Lemur, Red Panda, River Otter, Snow Leopard and Vampire Bats among its 2,000 animal residents. Over the years its animal habitats have expanded and upgraded, enabling better lifestyles for most animals. The zoo is also noted for its animal conservation efforts and breeding programs. Riverwalk
DESCRIPTION: Get a sense of Milwaukee’s flavor by strolling this cobblestone connected series of restaurants, bistros, cafes and shops that meanders through three distinct riverfront neighborhoods: the Historic Third Ward, Downtown, and Beerline B. Veterans Park
DESCRIPTION: Paddle boats, inline skating, bike rental, a pavilion for picnics and small wedding receptions in a beautiful 93 acre lakefront setting; the Blue Jazz Barbeque Festival is held here. Open until 11p; the Children’s Museum is inland.

DESCRIPTION: Two square block park in the African-American community commonly used for picnics and public gatherings, like Juneteenth.

Fondy Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION: City’s largest and oldest, Farmers Market is also a historical area, notable for the significant role Fond du Lac Avenue played in the Underground Railroad. The market opens daily in the summer, with Saturdays bringing out the largest crowds. The indoor market hall promises to transform the venue into a year-round market for Wisconsin made and grown-products like honey, cheese, poultry, beef and produce. Its located at the Crossroads of North Milwaukee.

Fiserv Forum
DESCRIPTION: Opened in 2018, Home to the Milwaukee Bucks NBA and Marquette University basketball teams, the arena seats nearly 17,400 plus 34 suites for basketball and 18,000 for concerts, ice shows, X-games and other large events. The Greek Freak, 2-time NBA Season MVP, plays here. There are more restrooms for women than for men. Concession areas abound and are needed for 200 events per year. A new parking structure located across the street can hold 1,250 vehicles. The 30-acre district surrounding Fiserv Forum will become the largest development project ever undertaken in downtown Milwaukee, combining entertainment, residential and commercial spaces.

UWM Panther Arena
DESCRIPTION: 12,700 seat facility for concerts, family shows and mid-size sporting events. The 1998 upgrade included Sports Walk of Fame which acknowledges a number of Milwaukee legends such as Oscar Robertson, Hank Aaron and many others. Hank Aaron began his major league career when the Braves were located in Milwaukee.
