The Townhouse restaurant is like a cat of nine lives. Every ten years of so, it encounters financial hardship, maybe closes, but always rebounds. The location so close to the black middle-to-upper class of Los Angeles is a factor. It was a sports bar before they were called sports bars. Large TVs are placed strategically around the bar and dance floor. Its also be a true chef-driven restaurant for many years, including some catered events. The jambalaya and other menu items, have ranged from good to great over the years, depending on the chef du jour. In case you just fell into town and are near LAX Airport, consider Sunday and Monday Sports nights, Tuesday Blues and R&B, Wednesday Karaoke, Thursday Ladies Night, Friday Night DJ, Saturday night Live Band are also favorites. Most importantly, know that the vibe is always sophisticated and warm.
