Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens
DESCRIPTION: Built on the site of the home of Arthur and Ninah Cummer, the museum opened in 1961 with a very small private collection. Today, it contains over 5,500 objects in its permanent collection and is regarded as one of the best fine arts museums in the state. Although its strength is European Classic art, it also features a small collection of West African headdresses. Make time for the lovely formal garden along the St Johns riverfront.

Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville
DESCRIPTION: Five spacious galleries display changing and permanent exhibitions by national and regional artist and the museum’s permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and photographs created since 1945. The museum includes a family learning center, the Art Explorium Loft, and hands-on interactive art exhibits for children. Enjoy a fine lunch at Café Nola and visit the well stocked museum store for contemporary gifts and home accessories. Photography is not permitted in the galleries.
