Pearl’s Place Review
If you are on the on the Southside and want good Soul Food, Pearl’s Place is a must-visit. This sit-down restaurant first opened in 1993, but management seems to be re-launching the brand in a good way. It serves buffets three times a day, except Sunday. But its specialty is still Sunday Brunch. That’s no surprise because Pearl’s is within walking distance of several churches on the Southside. The ladies prepare grits, greens, Mac & Cheese the old fashioned way. Additional specialities include Shrimp and Cheesy Grits Appetizer, Smothered Short Ribs of Beef and Jerk Turkey Dinner. You will find it hard to resist their delicious sweet potato pie, fresh fruit cobblers, Red Velvet Cake and Bread Pudding with Brandy Topping.
