Dubai Beaches

Dubai has a number of beaches stretching along its Persian Gulf shoreline. Here are a few of them popular with tourists.

Jumeirah Beach
This long strip of perfect light sand is the top beach destination for visitors. Some of Dubai’s most popular beach resorts call this beach home. Couples and business trip visitors will particularly love this beach. The public areas have excellent bathroom and shower facilities, loungers, restaurants, lifeguards patrolling the stretches designated for swimming, and water sports operators offering jet skiing, kayak rental, parasailing, and boat rides. There is no shortage of Dubai water sports at this beach.

La Mer Beach
Water sports operators here offer Jet Ski trips, boating, and kayaking. The calm waters let you swim in comfort and safety. It is served by lifeguards during the daytime. before sampling the nearby cafés and restaurants. Families also enjoy Laguna Waterpark which features waterslides, a lazy river, and a surf pool.

Umm Suqeim Beach
This is another wide, flat beach along the coastline, right where the Burj Al-Arab is located. The beach has few services, except for lifeguard stands, toilets, showers, and changing rooms. There are some covered picnic areas and playgrounds. Its open 24 hours a day. The beach is one of only a few in Dubai that is lighted at night and allows night swimming. The lights are powered by solar energy and windmills and turn on at sunset and turn off at midnight. Swimming is not allowed after midnight. The beach’s waves are barely suitable for surfing and boogie boarding. You next visit the giant Wild Wadi Waterpark just a few minutes away in Umm Suqeim.

Kite Beach
Kite Beach is a section of Umm Suqeim beach, near the northern end. It’s a wide, flat beach. Visitors like renting kayaks, paddleboards, kitesurfing, and kite flying. There’s a skate park and ice-cream kiosks. You can rent sun beds, umbrellas, and towels. The beach club works with all the local Kite Beach restaurants and offers complimentary beach delivery. Food trucks gather when it’s busy on the beach. Jumeirah Beach Hotel is a family-focused luxury resort, also designed to look like a sail (Burj Al-Arab Hotel). Families, teens, and high-activity adults love the beach and Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Marina Beach
The last part of the beach boardwalk runs in front of the JBR beachfront mall. It’s a wide, flat, beautiful beach with lifeguards on duty. It is walkable to restaurants, shops, little cafés, and ice-cream shops. It faces Bluewaters artificial island. This new residential, retail, hospitality, and entertainment district is home to Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest Ferris Wheel.
