DESCRIPTION: The nerve center of Afrocentric fine art in New York since 1968; this 60,000 square foot art studio has a continuous stream of artist exhibits, lectures, poetry readings, concerts, video/film screenings and hands-on art teaching programs; the permanent collection of art works by Elizabeth Catlett, Richard Mayhew, Jacob Lawrence, Romare Bearden, James Van Der Zee and many others is awe-inspiring; includes a well stocked gift store and a artist-in-residence program for three lucky artists per year
ADMISSION: Adults $7, Seniors & Students with valid ID $3, under age 12 enter free
