Antioch Baptist Church
Founded in 1866 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this church is the oldest African-American Baptist Congregation in Shreveport; designed by a noted Shreveport architect, the building represents the Romanesque Revival style; 1057 Texas Avenue; 318-222-7090
 
Holy Cross Episcopal Church
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the church was built in 1905 and originally named Street, Mark’s Episcopal Church; still holds many of its original fittings; 875 Cotton Street; 318-222-3325

Little Union Baptist Church
Many NAACP meetings were held in this church, it was visited by Martin Luther King, Jr., and was also a leader in the civil rights struggle; on September 22, 1963, it was the scene of policemen attacking worshippers during a memorial service for the four young girls killed in the Birmingham church bombing; 1846 Milam Street; 318-221-4491

Old Galilee Baptist Church
The birth of the Caddo school desegregation, a speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1958 and other events are just some of the things that happened at this church founded in 1877; now an abandoned building, since the congregation moved to a larger sanctuary; 854 Williamson Street at Snow Street

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church
The church was founded in 1925 and was the Black Catholic church in Shreveport; t still has service today and operates one of the most popular private elementary schools; 1558 Buena Vista; 318-222-3790

St. Paul United Methodist Church
