Historic Caddo Lake Drawbridge
This vehicular bridge illustrates the unique “Vertical-Lift” design invented in 1893, which allowed the entire center span to lift in a vertical direction to allow tall oil equipment to pass through; as modes of transportation progressed from the ferry, this was added here in 1914 and is the sole surviving example of this bridge type in the state of Louisiana
