Heinz Hall
DESCRIPTION: Formerly the Penn Theater built in 1927, now home of the world famous Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, this 2,847-seat opal and marble interior hall is mindful of its beginnings, but two major renovations have taken it to another level -- better sightlines, acoustics and comfort; Howard Heinz Endowment saved the building from the wrecking ball in 1968 and it reopened as Heinz Hall after renovation in 1971; a second more elaborate restoration completed in 1995

Benedum Center for the Performing Arts
