Nicknamed “Music City USA” because it is the largest commercial home of Country and Gospel music. Many of those recording artists also live in the area.

Nashville is home to several major health care management, insurance, religious printing and publishing companies, and automobile technology companies.

A higher education center, Nashville is home to Fisk University, Tennessee State University.

Country music tourism anchored by bars, shops and Gaylord Entertainment Complex along Broadway and Second Streets is a significant contributor to the economy.
