DESCRIPTION: Located in Bayfront Park, it’s a collection of restaurants, shops, bars, cinemas similar to Baltimore’s Harborplace; one of Miami’s most popular destinations, it includes a Bubba Gumps, Azteca de Oro, Cache, Hard Rock Café, Kehoe's Kiddie Train KidZone,and Mambo Café; day cruise ships dock at its waterfront

DESCRIPTION: Mediterranean-style shopping, dining and entertainment complex with many upscale attractions that include Fat Tuesday, Perfumania, Bice Bistro, CHeesecake Factory, Los Ranchos Steakhouse, Victoria's Secret, and Café Med; the abundance of nightlife, shops, restaurants and a cineplex in close proximity to yachts in Biscayne Bay often attracts the wealthy; although it succeeds as a visitor destination, too bad it does not integrate elements of historic Coconut Grove, that would make it really special

DESCRIPTION: A world famous entertainment district for adults facing a beachfront park; 22 hotels call Ocean Drive home; bar hop from 5th Street to 15th Street to check out the stunning collection of clubs and restaurants; a good place to find Latin Salsa; during the day time you can see skaters and bikers zooming by; celebrities and models can often be spotted; at breakfast take advantage of the startling azure skies, ocean views and palm trees

DESCRIPTION: a well deserved reputation for its dazzling range of night clubs that stay open late; even former US Attorney General, Janet Reno had a bash here in 2002; stroll from 15th Street to 4th Street to see the widest range of restaurants and nightclubs; if you like to party and can't find a club her or Ocean Drive that interests you, the problem might be you

Lincoln Road Shops
DESCRIPTION: A pedestrian-only street mall that stretches eight blocks; features more than 150 shops, 50 restaurants, several art galleries; its is also home to the Lincoln Theatre and Colony Theatre; rollerbladers and artists spice up the atmosphere; another great place for people watching during the daytime

Spanish Monastery
DESCRIPTION: An incredible contrast to what you'd expect to see in Art Deco and post-modern Miami Beach; built in Segovia, Spain in 1141 AD, William Randolph Hearst brought this structure; it was rebuilt on its present site in 1952; a favorite venue for weddings and receptions, so make an appointment two weeks in advance

DESCRIPTION: Spanning the north and south banks of Fort Lauderdale's New River is a waterfront park in the heart of downtown; along these historic banks, Native Americans plied their trade, and early settlers brought their harvest for rail shipment north; it is the birthplace of Fort Lauderdale; today, lush tropical landscape and winding walkways link Arts, Entertainment, Events, Shopping, Dining and Nightlife; dine at a– some visitors even dock their yachts here for day time activities; a number of premium shops dot nearby Las Olas Boulevard; a portion of the nearby Riverfront development is being converted to condos

Las Olas Boulevard
DESCRIPTION: In 1915, Broward County was officially created and named for Napoleon Bonaparte Broward, Florida's governor from 1905 to 1909; the beach, a major attraction, was accessible by boat only so a bridge and road were was built connecting Fort Lauderdale to the beach; the first road to the ocean was called Las Olas, which is Spanish for "the waves"; today La Olas is the main shopping and dining district of downtown Fort Lauderdale; responding to visitor demand, it includes many events, spas, art galleries, sightseeing and more
