Robert Church Park
A modest sized park in honor of Robert S. Church, Sr. who purchased the first bond when the city sought to restore its charter in the 1880s after the yellow fever epidemic; many regard this courageous act as the event which saved the city from extinction; believed to be the south’s first African American millionaire, Church also built an auditorium used by Booker T Washington for speeches

Lichterman Nature Center

DESCRIPTION: The perfect place to stop and smell the roses; nature lovers will enjoy the wonderful sights and scents of Cactus Garden, Butterfly Garden, Conifer Garden, Sensory Garden, Daylily Garden, Japanese maple Grove, Prehistoric Plant Trail, Herb Garden, Magnolia Trail, Sculpture Garden, Dogwood Trail, and of course a Rose Garden
