DESCRIPTION: Ranks as the largest in the Southeast and includes the Ronald E. McNair Space Theater; houses a wraparound screen that displays star shows, laser shows, exhibits on space transportation, filming in space, deep-sky wonders and Mega-HD films; a life-sized oil painting of Dr. Ronald E. McNair, graces the lobby; the lobby also contains a gift counter; shows daily except holidays

Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum
DESCRIPTION: Mississippi's two most important industries is traced inside the 40,000 square foot facility; a farm restoration and the crossroads town offer living historical examples of life in rural Mississippi during the 1920's; souvenirs available in the General Store; there is a free annual pumpkin picking

Mississippi Museum of Natural Science

DESCRIPTION: Mississippi has always been a naturally beautiful state; now where is that more evident than the exciting educational exhibits of the surrounding outdoor environment; exhibits begin with a White-tailed deer exhibit and continue to fossils found in the region; 20 large aquarium homes to over 200 species of native fishes, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates tells an ecological story of rivers, streams, lakes, marshes, and the Mississippi Sound; a must see exhibit is "The Swamp" which is a 1,700 sq. foot greenhouse with a 20,000 gallon aquarium home to alligators, turtles, and fish surrounded by a lush native plant garden; located in a 300 acre natural park

Jackson Zoological Park
DESCRIPTION: Founded in 1919, the zoo has a fine collection of animals with more than 300 animals representing more than 130 species; the latest addition is the Coral Reef exhibit housing 3 separate tanks of species. The touch-tank offers children the chance to actually touch marine life. Discovery Zoo aims to educate children through its entertaining and imaginative hands-on exhibits, such as Turtle Crawl, Ant World, and Create an Animal; if you have toddlers, you must ride the fully restored vintage carousel ($2 per person)
