INDIANAPOLIS TRANSPORTATION and TOURS
Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is really a regional airport that boast of great connecting flights to Chicago and Detroit. Car Rentals: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty service the airport. The airport is 10-15 minutes southwest of Downtown. Taxis: Catch a taxi at the lower terminal and from Downtown hotels. Minimum metered fare is $6.50. When traveling from airport to Downtown, consider the $10 Share-A-Ride Limousine for the 10-minute ride. Otherwise, anticipate paying $14-$20, with higher fares during commute hours.
Amtrak train station is located at 350 South Illinois Street. Amtrak Cardinal runs 3 times a day each way from Chicago and once each way to Washington, DC. Amtrak Hoosier State runs daily between Chicago and Indy and takes about 4 hours.
