Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

DESCRIPTION: One of the world’s largest children museums that’s also wonderful for adults; highlights include "Story Avenue" on level 4 and "Passport to the World" on level 3; Story Avenue features storytellers, Black magazines, a Black barbershop", video footage of Black churches, wide selection of children's books, stories of slavery and plantation life and more; visitors can stop by the barbershop or the front porch to deposit one of their own at the Story Bank; get a “Passport to the World” which features African face painting, masks, clothes, video of African celebrations, and Kwanzaa display

Indianapolis Zoo & Aquarium
DESCRIPTION: Since opening in 1964, the zoo has grown into a world-class facility for conservation, research and family fun; the zoo accomplished the world’s first successful artificial insemination of an African elephant; 5 Zoo Blomes (Forests, Waters, Deserts, Plains, Encounters) attempt to replicate the natural habitat of animals who co-exist in the wild; the only attraction accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) and the American Association of Museums as a zoo, an aquarium and a botanic garden;

NCAA Hall of Champions
DESCRIPTION: Since 2000, the National Collegiate Athletic Association hall for championships in 22 sports are celebrated and remembered here; the museum takes you on a journey of from a student-athlete perspective, as they experience the highs and lows of competition; award-winning interactive displays and multimedia presentations give this place an upbeat feel; adjacent to the new NCAA headquarters in White River State Park

Lucas Oil Stadium
DESCRIPTION: To prevent losing its NFL team due to the obsolete RCA Dome since torn down, Indy moved quickly to opened this fine stadium in 2008 and seating 63,000 football fans plus 137 corporate suites for the Indianapolis Colts; football fans will appreciate the wider aisles, more comfortable seating, better viewing angles, large scoreboards, and of tcourse the Colts Pro Shop accessible from two levels

Victory Field
DESCRIPTION: The minor league baseball park that is the home of the Indianapolis Indians of the International League; opened in 1996 and seated 15,000, but wanted a bleacher section removed to make room for a picnic area; there are currently 12,496 permanent seats and room for approximately 2000 more fans on the outfield lawn, though on popular days it may total over 15,000 with SRO seats; the name reflects the victory of the United States in World War II

Conseco Fieldhouse
DESCRIPTION: Whether it’s an Indiana Pacers basketball game, World Championship Wrestling, concerts, Disney on Ice, or the Circus, this start-of-the-art venue somehow manages to feel more intimate than its 18,500 seats would suggest; concourses extend 50-60 feet wide, 100+ concession stands feature everything from gourmet meals to hot dogs and there are plenty of restrooms; every seat is wide, highly raked and unobstructed to place you on top of the action
