DALLAS TRANSPORTATION
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
Car Rentals & Shuttles: Take the Automated People Mover to rental car operations for Avis, Hertz, National and Thrifty car renters. Exit DFW via International Parkway, which services all four terminals. The parkway connects to State Highway (SH) 183 on the South if you are headed to downtown Dallas or SH 114 on the North if you are headed to northern Dallas.
Taxis: They are frequently parked outside each terminal. From DFW, it takes 30-50 minutes to reach downtown Dallas depending on time of commute.
TRANSIT
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail trains, commuter rail, and rapid buses to and from Downtown, CityPlace Center and Stemmons Freeway business districts. Dallas has taken the lead in Texas for transit and commuter rail to ease traffic. Dallas is building more transit centers with parking, where rapid bus routes, light rail and commuter rail lines converge.
Amtrak: Rather surprisingly, there is no Amtrak rail service from Dallas to Houston. But there is train that stops here 3 times a week in its run from San Antonio to Chicago.
