Warehouse District
DESCRIPTION: Comprises a former wholesale and commercial center of fine Victorian architecture that by the 1920s ranked close to New York City as a leading center for clothing manufacture; hard times came in the district after WW II and many buildings were raized; most remaining buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places; a rebirth is underway for live-work lofts, restaurants and clubs

Soldiers & Sailors Monument
DESCRIPTION: Sculpted by Levi T. Scofield and built in 1894, the bronze and granite landmark is an imposing monument commemorating the Civil War; "Goddess of Liberty” situated at the top, signifies loyalty to the nation; inside the base of the monument bronze relief sculptures depict the Navy, Cavalry, Infantry and Artillery, Emancipation of the Slaves, Beginning and End of the Civil War in Ohio, famous officers slain in action; tablets listing 9,000 Civil War veterans include the names and infantry number of US Colored Troops next white soldiers and sailors, signaling that Colored Troops were honored as peers; FREE entry, donations welcomed
