ATLANTA TRIVIA

For many years running, Atlanta is the number one tourism destination for African Americans and African Americans in the metro area number about one million.

The a 470 phone area code is overlaid over the same area area codes 770 and 404 in this fast-growing metro area.

Atlanta has become the South's premier center of communications, transportation, media, manufacturing, distribution, technical research, and it is a strong runner-up in recorded music and banking. Over 400 Fortune-500 companies have major divisions in Atlanta.

Although Metro Atlanta has about 4.3 million residents, its hard to tell so many people live here because the metro area has the least density of any major American metro area (spread over 6,126 miles).

Atlanta is still one of top places to relocate a business.

Atlanta is highly regarded as one of the best places for people of color to climb the corporate ladder.

Corporate headquarters include Coca Cola, BellSouth, Delta Air Lines, CNN/TBS, Georgia Pacific, Home Depot and United Parcel Service.

With the 1996 Olympics as a catalyst, Atlanta became the 2nd best-wired city in America.

While some cities celebrate their 1st Black mayor, Atlanta celebrates its 4th and each predecessor has a track record for good fiscal management.
