DESCRIPTION: Opened in 2005 as one of the largest aquariums in the world, thanks to a $200 million donation by the Home Depot owner; features more than 55,000 animals from 500 different species in over 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water; also benefiting from the design and operational experience of many older aquariums to arguably make this either the 1st or 2nd best aquarium in America; located next to the new World of Coca-Cola and across the street from CNN and Centennial Olympic Park

World of Coca Cola
DESCRIPTION: Opened in 2007, it features more than 1,200 artifacts ranging from bottles of Coca-Cola to a capping machine; Coke, of course, was developed as a soda fountain drink in 1886; the tour is a trek into the history, present-day and future of Coca-Cola; one exhibit lets you sample the various flavors of Coke; weekend and holiday waits to enter can exceed 1/2 hour; use the nearby parking garage or take any MARTA train line to Five Points

DESCRIPTION: Recently built, IMAGINE IT is a place where children experience the power and joy of imagination while learning; the museum is primarily designed for children ages 2-8, the sight and tactile experience is oriented to their level and they can touch everything

Philips Arena

DESCRIPTION: Opened in 1999, this state-of-the-art arena is home for the Hawks NBA basketball, Thrashers NHL hockey and Georgia Force Arena Football teams, major concerts and family events; the front entrance signature “Atlanta” is constructed of columns set at angles; every seat has great sightlines and there are plenty of concession stands and restrooms; seats 18,700 for basketball & hockey, for a step up there are 1,866 Club Seats and 92 Private Suites

DESCRIPTION: Opened in 1992 and still the largest cable-supported domed stadium in the world; home for the NFL Atlanta Falcons, a regular host of the Super Bowl, Atlanta Football classic, SEC Football Championship, and the Peach Bowl; also hosts major concerts by such entertainers as the Rolling Stones and religious events by T.D. Jakes; it seats 71,000 and has 203 Executive Suites, 4,600 club seats and has a Penthouse Suite

Turner Field & Atlanta Braves Museum
DESCRIPTION: 1996 Olympic Stadium morphed into Turner Field to host Atlanta Braves baseball; it seats 47,000; the north side of Turner Field hosts the Atlanta Braves Baseball Museum, which features more than 500 Braves artifacts and traces the team's circuitous history from Boston to Milwaukee to Atlanta; at northwest exterior of Turner Field, Henry “Hank” Aaron Monument, a 10 foot bronze statue by Ed Dwight, commemorates the man who hit 755 homers to become major league baseball's all-time home-run champ; in his distinguished 23-year career, Hank also became the all-time baseball leader for RBIs (2,297) and Total Bases (6,856); he was inducted in the Baseball Hall-Of-Fame in 1982
